Coast — Support

Last updated: 14 September 2026

Coast scores how smoothly you ride. It records a ride on your phone, looks at how hard you braked and pulled away, and gives the ride a score out of 100. Coast Pro adds coaching on what to change.

Email jeetkapiljain5@gmail.com. Coast is made by a very small team at Vibe6 Digital LLP, so replies are not instant — but every email is read. Telling us your phone model and what you were doing when something went wrong saves a round trip.

Rides keep recording with the phone locked

Start a ride, then lock the phone or switch to another app: the ride keeps recording until you tap Stop. You do not need to keep Coast on screen. This needs Coast 1.1 or later.

On Android, a notification, Coast is recording your ride, stays in place for as long as the ride records if Coast's notifications are allowed (if they are not, Android 13 and later lists Coast under active apps), and tapping it brings Coast back. On iPhone, iOS shows its location indicator while Coast records with the phone locked. Coast asks only for While Using the App location access, never Always.

Coast does not stop a ride by itself, so tap Stop when you arrive. Recording uses GPS and the motion sensors the whole way, so a long ride uses a noticeable amount of battery.

A ride is missing from History

A ride is saved when you tap Stop. If Coast was shut down before that — the phone closed it to free memory or save battery, or it was force-stopped — the ride is not saved to History. The raw log recorded up to that point can still be on the phone, and Export My Ride Data in Settings includes it.

If that keeps happening on Android, check whether a battery saver or battery optimisation setting on your phone is closing Coast.

On the free tier, History shows your three most recent rides. Older rides are still on your phone, and Coast Pro shows them all.

Restoring a purchase

Open Settings in Coast and tap Restore Purchase. That re-checks the store for a purchase already tied to your account, which is what you want on a new phone or after a reinstall.

If you are already Coast Pro the button is hidden, because there is nothing left to restore.

Redeeming a code

On iPhone, tap Redeem a code on the Coast Pro screen; it opens Apple's own code sheet. On Android, tap Have a code? on the same screen.

Managing or cancelling a subscription

Coast cannot cancel a subscription for you — only the store can. Once you have bought, Coast's Settings shows a Manage in the App Store or Manage in Google Play link that opens the right page. Otherwise, on iPhone open Settings › your name › Subscriptions; on Android, use Google Play › Subscriptions.

A lifetime purchase never renews and there is nothing to cancel.

On Android, ride history does not survive a reinstall

Rides are stored on your phone and never sent to us. On Android, Coast switches automatic backup off on purpose so your rides are never copied to Google Drive — which also means uninstalling deletes them. Export anything you want to keep first, with Export My Ride Data in Settings.

On iPhone, Apple includes Coast's files in your device backup, so with iCloud Backup on your rides are part of that backup. See the privacy policy for the detail, including how to exclude Coast.

A score looked wrong

Coast judges a scooter and a car against different thresholds, because a car brakes far more gently than a two-wheeler. Coast asks which you are riding at the start of every ride — if you answer with the wrong one, the ride is scored against the wrong bar. There is no way to re-score a saved ride.

If a ride shows a dash instead of a score, Coast did not see enough of it to judge fairly — usually a very short ride, or one with a poor GPS fix.
